  • Salary: £26,409 – £28,624 per annum (Dependent on qualifications and experience)

We are looking for a dedicated Learning Mentor to join our team and provide specialist support to students with communication and interaction needs, Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, or co-occurring challenges. You will work one-to-one and in small groups, helping to create a safe, supportive learning environment where students can thrive. 

 

This role involves delivering tailored interventions, supporting vocational learning, and contributing to the development of personalised learning plans based on Education, Health & Care Plans (EHCPs). You will also provide cover for short- and medium-term teacher absences, ensuring a seamless learning experience for students. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

 

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support on and off-site, using specialist strategies where needed. 
  • Plan and deliver informal learning sessions or support the Specialist Teaching Assistant (STA) team in doing so. 
  • Embed English, Maths, and Social Skills into activities to support Individual Learning Plans (ILPs). 
  • Complete and maintain risk assessments for off-site activities and students with evolving needs. 
  • Use Trauma Informed Schools (TIS) strategies to support students both in the classroom and around the school. 
  • Monitor, assess, and report on student development, progress, and attainment. 
  • Support teaching staff, liaise with Family Support Workers, and work collaboratively with parents to build strong home-school partnerships. 
  • Attend and contribute to SEN reviews and other key meetings as required. 
  • Undertake first aid and administer medication (following appropriate training). 
  • Also delivering vocational sessions/courses to students
