Do you want to work for an “OUTSTANDING” Education Institution?

Bridgwater & Taunton College Residential provision provides accommodation for students aged 16+ studying across any of our three campuses. The College’s primary student accommodation is based at the Cannington campus and consists of 211 beds. The college also offers accommodation in Taunton at our Wellington Rd properties, boasting 19 beds that are situated over seven flats. This is alongside the 198 bed existing provision situated in Trull. An exciting new area of growth for the Residential provision is a rapidly expanding number of HMOs across Bridgwater and the surrounding areas.

A key priority for all Residential roles is to strive towards providing an Ofsted Outstanding provision for all of our students.

The Residential Team interviews and allocates residential places to students. They provide 24/7 support for residential students with issues ranging from accommodation queries to student wellbeing, entertainment and enrichment. The team’s primary responsibility is the safeguarding of residential students. The residential provision was inspected by Ofsted under the Further Education Residential Accommodation: National Minimum Standards in October 2022 and awarded Outstanding overall.

The purpose of this role is to co-ordinate and monitor the wellbeing of the College’s residential learners with a specific focus on the under 18 provision at Cannington. A key element of the role will be to provide safeguarding support to all students in residential accommodation and work with students to mentor, self-assess, agree targets and review progress.

This role will also focus on engaging residential learners in a range of clubs and societies such as the Volunteering Committee, as well as compulsory residential sessions, in order to develop and enhance learners’ personal, social and employability skills.
