Salary/Benefits: Salary from £31,930 per annum (Pro-Rata) DOE and Qualifications, Teacher’s pension, Retail and Leisure Discounts, excellent professional and personal development opportunities, accessing college courses.
Hours/Weeks: 37 hours per week
Contract Type: Permanent – Full Time
About the role:
We are currently seeking a Teacher of Sociology to join our Sixth Forms department at The Bedford College Group.
As a Teacher, you play an important role in the success of our students through:
- Student Development – Help students develop skills and reach their potential through course delivery and curriculum development.
- Teaching and Engagement – Undertake teaching commitments, motivate students, plan and deliver lessons, and provide assessments and feedback.
- Curriculum and Activities – Contribute to curriculum development, organize extracurricular activities, and participate in departmental meetings.
- Promotion and Reporting – Promote The Corby Sixth Form at events, produce student progress reports, and contribute to student enrichment.
- Statutory Duties – Promote safeguarding, equality and diversity, follow health and safety requirements, and engage in training and development.
About you:
- Qualifications and Experience – Degree in a relevant subject, Certificate in Education, GCSEs in English and Maths, current A Level teaching experience, and success in teaching.
- Skills and Knowledge – Up-to-date subject knowledge, use of ILT in teaching, promoting equality and diversity, and providing high-quality learning experiences.
- Interpersonal Skills – Effective team member, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to create a welcoming environment.
- Professional Conduct – Promote safeguarding, maintain professional boundaries, update skills continuously, and work flexibly.
- Commitment and Adaptability – Commitment to Sixth Form values, robust approach to work demands, and willingness to work at all College locations.
