Full time (35 hrs/wk), permanent

Split place of work between Horizons (Reading, Berkshire) and Home, with up to 30 days per year spent at Horizons

We have an exciting opportunity for someone to join our busy and fast-paced Apprenticeship Business Management team, offering invaluable support to drive apprenticeship outcomes and student success. As the Business Administrator, you will provide effective and professional administration, working closely with Business Support Officers and the Apprenticeship team to support the delivery of operational objectives. You will be involved in a range of administrative duties to support changes in apprentice circumstances, funding, compliance and other general duties as required. This is a brilliant opportunity for anyone looking to enhance or kickstart their administrative career in the Higher Education sector.

Your accountabilities and responsibilities include:

  • Prepare documentation and process requests relating to apprentice change of circumstances, e.g., change of employer, change of employing entity, change of apprenticeship, change of degree, change of pathway, break in learning, withdrawal etc
  • Act as the first point of contact for all apprenticeship on-programme enquiries
  • Support the development and maintenance of ‘controls processes’ to support the achievement of ESFA Compliance
  • Prepare documentation and process requests relating to apprentice progression, gateway, end point assessment (EPA) and completions

Our main requirements:

  • GCSE Maths and English Language Grade C or 4 or above
  • Further education level qualifications or equivalent professional experience
  • Recent business support, customer service or administrative experience in either an apprenticeship facing role or in a role linked to government funded programmes
  • Digital skills: We use MS Office which includes Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
